Messaging and automation

Set up CRM email and reusable templates

Choose recognizable sender details and verify actual delivery before messaging customers.

Configure sender preferences

Settings → Email contains Enable Email, From Email, From Name, and a Test Email area. Sender preferences do not by themselves configure the platform’s email provider or verify a sending domain.

The current delivery path uses a platform-verified sender and can use the company address for replies. Do not assume entering an arbitrary From Email grants permission to send from that domain. Account verification/invitation mail is another configuration dependency.

Test delivery and replies

Confirm platform email delivery is available with the account owner. If the screen reports “Email service not configured,” the service must be configured server-side.

  1. Enable email and save company sender/reply preferences.
  2. Send a Test Email to your own inbox.
  3. Check inbox and spam, the visible sender name, and reply address.
  4. Reply to the test and confirm the reply reaches the intended inbox.
  5. Send one lead email to a consenting internal test contact and verify its timeline entry.

Build reusable templates

Settings → Email Templates stores name, subject, body, description, and active state. Use a subject that explains the message and a body that clearly identifies the business. Review any available template variables using the editor; do not invent unsupported placeholders.

A stored template is not sent until a manual action or configured automation uses it. Confirm wording, personalization, and links with a test email before activating customer-facing automation.
